Charity Cycling Jerseys

by The Cycle Jersey |

This summer, two school boys (Toby & Chandos, aged 13), are earning extra credit in school for this end of year Charity project.  Please help these rad boys to meet their target of £3000 for three charities very close to each of their hearts.  With £1415 by, they are 47% closer to reaching their target and have just shy of 3 days to achieve it!

They look pretty swanky in their custom jerseys, don't they!  We'd love to work with more charities to design their own cycle jersey and help raise way more awareness.

Dear All

I (Toby) am writing to let you know that as part of my end of school project and to celebrate finishing Common Entrance at the Pilgrim’s School both my friend Chandos  and I are planning to ride from Winchester to Paris in three days. We will be starting at Winchester Cathedral on Friday 23rd June and aim to arrive at Notre Dame on the afternoon of Sunday 27th June, having also visited Rouen Cathedral on route.  The route we are taking is approximately 305 km. In preparation for this challenge we have already cycled over 105kms on a Wiggle race in the New Forest on Sat 8th April.

We are hoping to raise a total of £3000 for three charities which are:-

Allegra’s AmbitionCancer Research UK and Bhubesi Pride.

Allegra’s Ambition is a charity aiming to help young people through participation in sport and outdoor activities to develop similar positive behaviours and values to enhance their lives – and be happier people, like Allegra. A second ambition of Allegra’s charity is for young people to become involved in building the charity with their own ideas and challenges. Our vision of Allegra’s Ambition is clear – but there are many ways of achieving it. Allegra was always proactive and she had great ideas. If it was fun, if it was a challenge, if it was inclusive, if the goal was worthwhile – then Allegra wanted to do it.

Cancer has affected us and many other people in the world. We have had two cases of this. First, my mum is luckily doing fine after her encounter with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. However, my god mother, Alison Denley, died recently due to breast cancer which was heart breaking. Of course, these events are happening every day and action is needed.

The third charity Chandos and I are looking to raise money for is the Bhubesi Pride Foundation, a charity that Chandos’ father supported last year when he went out to Kenya to coach rugby for 2 weeks.  The foundation assembles teams of committed volunteers to carry out annual rugby coaching expeditions, using sport as a tool for education.  They work with schools and communities in east and southern Africa, children unite through sport, local staff are empowered and meaningful partnerships are developed to ensure sustainable impact for the long-term.

If you would like to support us I have set a My Donate page.  Alternatively, I know some people prefer to give charity cheques and these can be made out to Allegra’s Ambitions, Cancer Research UK and Bhubesi Pride.
