  1. Strathpuffer 2018!

    PUFFER MTB

Strathpuffer 24h MTB Event: Another One Bites the Dust!

01st Feb, 2018 So it seems after last years antics the guys over here at TCJ  aren't taking on this year's puffer  -  I don't blame them, I mean, they  have done 7 in a row - absolute nutters, if you ask us!  With 14 laps covered in 12 hours between the 3 brave souls - Brian, Frazer and Lindsay, they decided amongst themselves it was best to call it a night and have a well deserved nightcap.  With it possibly being the sketchiest trail, in all the teams race history, they didn't want to be down and out for the upcoming season This years puffer event is right around the corner and all bodies are in full preparation (for both the ride and specific beverages which follow)! There's noting better than starting off the new year, by putting all that hard work and training to the test.  The guys let loose in the mountain terrains of the Scottish Highlands, in what is described as one of the top 10 Mountain Bike events in the world!  After all, it's only 17 hours of darkness, winds that blow a hooley and rain no more than an average day in Scotland..  Nothing they can't give a good old bash! It's got the blood pumping and the brains ticking over at TCJ headquarters - keep your eyes front for some regular updates and quality stock to follow. The Strathpuffer started in 2005 - it was meant to be a one off local event but somehow THIRTNEEN (ooooh, unlucky for some..)  years later it has become a national event with a legendary status Over the years there has been every possible type of weather conditions - gales that blew away marquees, iced roads, 2ft of snow the week before the event, temperatures down to minus 10 degrees, rain, hail and even sunshine . . . . you get the picture but then if there's going to be a 24 hour event in the Highlands of Scotland in the middle of winter what can you expect! Don't forget to have a look at the official merchandise that's available at this years event; it's pretty gnarlyyy!   STRATHPUFFER HOODY -bk STRATHPUFFER HOODY - fr

  2. Team Rider to Represent Merida Bicycles UK

Kyle Beattie (aka stokagegram) gave us a little insight about his past and future riding, as he now represents Merida Bikes UK! Mum and Dad were always rad at taking us out on bikes when we were younger and I absolutely loved it!  I got my first mountain bike which was a Showgun Gategrasher 200 Hardtail which was too fun and I got hooked on riding my bike.  I was always balancing all my sports, as I was originally an Ice Hockey player.  I can't explain how stoked I am to have the best support in the business from my amazing sponsors: Basecamp Bikes, thecyclejersey, Merida Bicycles UK  and Bawbags Underwear. I can't wait for this season!  Too stoked!  I am still pretty new to this enduro stuff, but loving it.  Coming off the back winning the senior overall in the Scottish Enduro Series 2016.  I will be moving into racing elite and couldn't be more stoked for the races!  Can't explain how stoked I am to now be riding for Merida! My plans for the 2017 season are, to be at the rest of the Scottish Enduro Series and some more No Fuss events and potentially some XC races too.  My new Merida One-Sixty 8000 is ridiculously rad!  The best bike I've ever ridden.  It's a whole other level.  The servicing from my dudes at Basecamp Bikes is incredibly good; keeping my bike running perfectly all the time. For 2017 my main goal is to try to get some top 5 elite results in the SES and work towards podium finishes. Pssst.. If you're fancying yourself a bit of Merida too, check out this How to Choose a Bike blog, first!

ABOUT TCJ

High quality digital printing technology has evolved over the years and we have the facility to utilise it to the max. So we use it unlike most others! Initially to produce our own cycle jerseys, mainly for races, enduros and just plain fun. Most of all we just wanted something different to wear on the trails that subtly whispered our likes and dislikes, our joy of the sport and desire to be creative with it.

Trouble is, we kept getting nagged for jerseys from friends and fellow riders......It didn't take much of that to realise there was a demand for these quirky and limited edition designs we were wearing, so it began to dawn on us that we should go for it. Go large. Thanks to the help and encouragement from the fine companies you see in the following pages, we finally got ourself together and brought our designs to the public at large - and created TheCycleJersey.com ...Read More
