We are avid beer drinkers here at The Cycle Jersey and nothing excites us more than a new brewery joining the ever growing collection of brewery jerseys that we have available on our online shop.
This week we uploaded the brand new Thornbridge Brewery road cycle jersey to the website which has got to be one of our favourites due to its amazing colours. The new jersey is available HERE for purchase now!
Thornbridge Brewery was launched back in 2005 when the founders Jim Harrison and Simon Webster recruited two young brewers to brew on a second hand 10-barrel kit in the grounds of Thornbridge Hall. The brewery is based in the outbuildings of Thornbridge Hall which is based within the 100-acre estate surrounded by gardens. In 2004 the buildings were renovated specifically for the brewery instillation and the first brew was Lord Marples which is a classic bitter (4%) which has since become a core Thornbridge beer.
The second beer which Thornbridge brewed in 2005 earned them an array of awards and national recognition and this IPA was called Jaipur. Jaipur is a 5.9% IPA made with American hops and at that time it was the only beer like it in the industry. It catapulted Thornbridge into the spotlight with demand overtaking supply which made the need for a new brewery clear.
In 2009 a brand new brewery was built at Riverside in Bakewell which allowed Thornbridge to develop a wider range of beers. Brewing still takes place today at Thornbridge Hall on the original kit which allows them to experiment with new brews and create bespoke Hall brews as well as seasonal and collaboration brews which assists the main brewery in Bakewell.
If you would like to check out the huge range of beers that Thornbridge offers then check out their online shop HERE. They also have an awesome Beer Club subscription box with members enjoying a unique mixed box of beer delivered to your door every month. These boxes include exclusive beers, the latest seasonal releases and the occasional classic beer for only £40 a month. The retail price of the beers included in the box exceeds £50 so it's definitely a great idea for Thronbride Brewery lovers like the team at The Cycle Jersey!
