For over 30 years now, Islay has been host of the Islay Festival of Malt.  Held annually on the last week of May; when the temperature is just right and the man eating midgies are still at bay.  This Islay whisky festival calls upon all kinds of connoisseurs from all over  the globe.

Islay is part of the Southern Hebrides and home to approx. 3,200 people and also resident to some of the most replenishing Scottish malt whisky distilleries including: Ardbeg, Bruichladdich,Lagavulin and Laphroaig.  With miles of beautiful beaches and a good stretch of road - you can't resist a good cycle if you're going to the festival - take on the Whisky trail -  (click here for Islay bike hire ). From tales of festivals past; the population of Islay more than doubles for the festival - the calling of music and malts is an irresistible thought for whisky pilgrims around the country.

All distilleries will open their doors to the public for daily tastings, there's golf, bowing ceilidhs and Gaelic lessons and proper good music!  The festival will commence the week of May 25th- 2nd June.
