Nairn’s have been baking with oats since 1896 when John and Sarah Nairn first opened their bakery in Strathaven, Lanarkshire. Since then their team, often spanning generations of local families, has become the proud and careful guardians of the Nairn’s recipes, mixing techniques and their ever-growing range.
Although their team and range might have changed their aim is the same - to make tasty, wholesome food that is as simple and natural as possible using the best ingredients they can.
Nairn’s are the largest producer of oatcakes in the UK, one of the UK’s leading and most trusted gluten free brands and their range is exported to over 30 countries. Their new tartan snoods were originally produced especially for their export market however they have been so popular that together we decided to make both the snood and the jerseys available to everyone. We know how much you all love tartan!
Not only will you look great in their new tartan jersey but you will also feel good because for every sale of this brand new tartan jersey we will donate 10% to The Venchie in Edinburgh which is focused on looking after children in Edinburgh who are living in poverty through no fault of their own.
With cuts to their funding, this charity is living more ‘hand to mouth’ than ever before and Nairn’s are supporting them throughout 2020 as their charity of the year. The Venchie is only located a few minutes’ walk from the bakery so it is a charity close to their hearts.
If you would like to find out more about The Venchie then check out our newest blog post or head straight to their website.
If the purple tartan isn’t for you and you would rather grab life by the oats in a simpler jersey then don’t worry! We still have the original blue and original purple jersey available for sale as well as the tartan Nairn’s snood that everyone is loving so much.
