Plus size cycle gear is by no means the easiest thing in the world to find. It can certainly be a frustrating and costly search for the right findings.
Plus size jerseys for larger riders are for those who measure larger than average in the chest, neck and shoulder areas, you're considered a 'big person' to us little 'uns. Such people do not fit in the standard sized cycling apparel and mostly face the problem of finding the perfect fit for them and luckily, we understand the struggle is real.
Generally our branded and custom jerseys come up bigger than most others on the high-street anyway; they're not hugely different, we're just not followers of the skin tight 'can you see what I had for breakfast' Italian look. Because we're in control of all stages of production - from design to print, it means we're able to create your jersey accordingly. Even the non custom, website jerseys! We can offer larger sizes from X-XXXXL!! Our standard biggest size is a 2XL and as we've stated we can go up to 4XL however this will incur a small surcharge due to extra material and template alterations. We're still the most genuine on the market in regards to price and delivery.
It may also be good for our female riders reading to know - we already go up to size 18 (XXL), but the same size options are available up to 4XL for you too. Ladies cycle wear is a topic that has been brought to our attention
numerous times, problematic issues such as: sizing, availability, style and design (all equally important as one another), must be researched correctly in order to create the ideal women's jersey - and that's just not happening.
Big brand cycle manufacturers currently produce cycle gear for homogeneous groups; they don't put in the extra mile in order to produce for the variety of people within each cycle category - though their interests are the same, their genetics aren't! It seems their 'women's wear' is just a spin off, of existing male designs, and is just made female friendly by changing the colour of each design.
Being bigger often brings other issues too, like longer arm and torso length, which means a standard XXL jersey often won't have long enough sleeves and likely too short on the body. But don't worry, we've got that covered as well - all you have to do is have a look at our size charts when ordering and enquire about these things. Probably best to go by a jersey you know fits like a glove, compare it to our charts and go from there.
Note: make your size decisions while sitting in the saddle and not standing up. Cycling gear is designed for the cycling position, not standing.
