Evie Richards definitely turned heads at this year’s U23 CX World Championships with her hasty riding skills and impressive endurance rate. We are very thankful to have been asked to create a surprise custom jersey for the Tmo rider, who later achieved the World Champion title - well done, girl!
(Not so slow), but steady won the race – ‘I started from the back’, an overwhelmed and delighted Evie Richards began first her statement as the official U23 World Champion. She took on the role as lone rider in this year’s women’s finalist race, prior to her silver medal in last year’s Mountain Bike World Championships.
It was no surprise she accepted the award with open arms, as hard work and determination had paid off; with lap times of 10.10, 10.14 and 10.16 soaring her to the front of the group for the most part. Competing in her first race abroad, she won by laps! ‘It feels amazing! This is my first cyclo-cross race abroad so to get a jersey for my first race is incredible and I wouldn't want it any other way.’
A proud Tracy Moseley took to Twitter to thank TCJ for helping them along the way stating ‘Massive thanks to @thecyclejersey for making these jerseys for U23 CX World Champ @eviee_alice in record time!!'
